Music Lessons with Rodney Branigan

Learn from a Touring Professional

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to break through to the next level, my lessons are built around one goal:

Helping you become a confident, creative musician.

I've spent more than 30 years performing professionally throughout the UK, Europe and the United States. I've played major festivals, concert halls, clubs, theatres and universities, and have taught musicians of every age and ability.

Music has taken me around the world. Now I'd like to help you on your own musical journey.

These Aren't Just Guitar Lessons

Anyone can teach you where to put your fingers.

I want to teach you how music works.

My lessons combine practical technique with musicianship, including:

Guitar technique and confidence

Rhythm and timing

Fingerstyle and acoustic performance

Songwriting

Improvisation

Music theory that actually makes sense

Playing with other musicians

Preparing for live performance

Developing your own musical voice

Every lesson is tailored to your goals. Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, write original music, perform live or simply enjoy playing at home, we'll build a plan that works for you.

Learn from Real Experience

Throughout my career I've had the privilege of:

Touring internationally as a professional musician

Performing at festivals and venues across the UK, Europe and the United States

Teaching students privately for many years

Delivering workshops and masterclasses

Guest lecturing at universities and music institutions

Developing my own unique approach to performance as a multi-instrumentalist

The biggest lesson I've learned is that great musicians aren't simply people with fast fingers.

They're people who know how to listen, communicate, create and connect with an audience.

Those are skills that can be learned.

My Teaching Philosophy

I don't believe in making students fit a rigid syllabus.

I believe every musician learns differently.

Some people learn by ear.

Some love theory.

Some dream of writing songs.

Some simply want to play around the campfire with confidence.

We'll start where you are, build on your strengths, tackle the areas that hold you back, and make learning enjoyable along the way.

Music should be inspiring, not intimidating.
